The role is multifaceted and critical to the overall functioning and success of the school.

The Head of school provides leadership to all functions of the school. He/ She is responsible for developing and

implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each Teacher/Staff.

He/ She sets expectations and effectively delivers results for academic achievement, school culture, and physical safety and Teacher/Student performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. **Meeting Curriculum and Pedagogical Priorities **

- Ensure that the school curriculum serves the vision and mission of the school and oversee the alignment
- of the curriculum and pedagogy across the school
- Oversee the quality of students’ work, overview documents, learning histories, curriculum documents and teacher work
- Ensure that children get plethora of experiences and opportunities to participate, engage, perform and
- express their creativity in other curricular activities
- Ensure that the teachers, children and parents are aligned and understand the processes (stream
- allocation) very well

B. Knowledge, Planning, and Preparation

- Identify the needs of the organization in consultation with all the stakeholders and create a school/strategic plan for the school
- Prepare the school calendar well in advance for the new session keeping in mind the needs of the school and the strategic plan and ensure timely release of the calendar for children and parents
- Ensure contribution of Wing Leaders and representatives in whole school processes and events
- Ensure long range planning and procurement of fixed resources such as rooms, labs, equipment, yearly stationery etc.

C. **Maintaining Accurate Records and Communicating **

- Record the performance of Wing Leaders and ensure tracking of performance of coordinators and teachers
- and ensure Annual Confidential Reports of teachers and other employees are timely and well documented
- Ensure all the compliance and statutory records are maintained by the concerned departments
- Ensure timely and effective communication with parents about the school curriculum, pedagogy,administrative issues, change in practices, policies and procedures

D. Growing and Developing Professionally – Learning and Development

- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learningand Initiate professional development to improve leadership practice
- Plan appropriate professional development, effective orientation and mentoring of new staff; establish an overall atmosphere of respect, trust and accountability.

E. School culture, practices and ethos

- Uphold and exhibit the school ethos and expectations Model honesty, integrity, fairness, and high ethical standards on a consistent basis
- Develop and maintain a positive school culture Engage openly in shared problem‐solving and decision making, maintaining a school culture of transparency and trust within the school

F. Administration

- Oversee appropriate allocation of teachers, creation of rosters for whole school duties such as dispersals, whole school events, admissions examination and invigilation duties etc.
- Propose Yearly Budget for – teacher Development, curriculum and Subject resources, Classroom libraries, student products, Trips, events, workshops, learning and development plan for teachers’ and other consumable and non-consumable resources keeping school goals in mind
- Ensuring adherence to the compliance with the regulations set forth by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and other relevant statutory bodies.
- Representing the school on significant platforms to showcase its achievements, educational philosophies, and contributions to the community.
