Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Conference & Membership Sales Manager to spearhead our conference sales initiatives and manage membership growth for our expanding portfolio of events and the association. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven ability in sales, client relationship management, and event marketing strategies. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, ensuring flawless event execution, and fostering robust member engagement to strengthen our community network.
Key Responsibilities
Conference Sales & Business Development
Lead Generation: Secure sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees for conferences through strategic sales initiatives.
Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and surpass revenue targets.
Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of leads with consistent follow-ups to ensure high conversion rates.
Client Relations: Cultivate and sustain long-term relationships to drive repeat business and enhance client loyalty.
Association Membership Sales & Engagement
Membership Growth: Create and implement strategies to boost association memberships, leveraging multiple channels to attract potential members.
Engagement Initiatives: Design programs such as webinars, networking events, and exclusive content to increase member participation and satisfaction.
Retention Programs: Develop and manage initiatives aimed at retaining members, ensuring high renewal rates and ongoing loyalty.
Marketing & Promotion
Campaign Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to design and execute multi-channel campaigns (email, digital, print, social media).
Timeline Management: Oversee marketing schedules to ensure timely achievement of campaign milestones and deadlines.
Event Management
Logistics Coordination: Manage the operational planning of conferences, including delegate and speaker coordination.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary contact for sponsors and exhibitors, addressing their needs and ensuring a positive experience.
Reporting & Analysis
Data-Driven Strategies: Utilize data insights to refine strategies and enhance conference performance.
Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations after events and provide actionable recommendations for future improvements.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
- Total Experience: 3–7 years in a relevant role.
- Specific Experience: Minimum of 2 years in conferences or associations. Demonstrated success in association membership sales is highly preferred.
- Skills
Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong negotiation capabilities.
Organizational Abilities: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with CRM software and membership management tools is advantageous.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel as needed for conferences and events.
- Self-motivated with a growth mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
