Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of writer/editors, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to company standards.

Provide regular feedback, guidance, and support to foster a collaborative and creative work environment.

Develop and conduct training programs to strengthen the team’s writing skills and understanding of college admissions processes.

Motivate and empower the team to consistently produce exceptional work.

2. Essay Review and Finalization

Oversee the end-to-end essay review process to ensure that all student essays are coherent, polished, and aligned with individual goals.

Provide detailed, constructive feedback and make targeted edits to improve clarity, structure, and storytelling.

Ensure all essays meet the company’s quality benchmarks before final submission.

3. Quality Assurance

Design and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to evaluate and uphold writing standards.

Conduct regular audits and evaluations to identify improvement areas and enforce best practices.

Lead initiatives to elevate draft quality and ensure consistency and excellence across the writing process.

4. Client Communication & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (students and parents), addressing concerns and resolving escalations as needed.

Collaborate closely with the Consulting team to understand client goals and preferences, ensuring essay deliverables exceed expectations.

Gradually transition into a more active client management role post-application season.

5. Operations & Process Improvement

Continuously assess and refine writing workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.

Introduce new tools, strategies, and best practices to boost productivity and writing effectiveness.

Partner with the operations team to streamline work allocation and team management.

6. Industry Research & Strategy

Stay updated on emerging trends in undergraduate college admissions and essay writing to keep the team competitive and relevant.

Use industry insights to inform writing strategies and team approaches.

Contribute to strategic decision-making by anticipating shifts in the higher education landscape.

7. Capability Building

Lead efforts to expand the team’s skill set and keep members informed of industry advancements.

Launch capability-building initiatives in January–February to ensure ongoing professional growth and development.
