The Role
We are seeking a creative, technically proficient media production specialist to be the engine of our media lab. The individual must be proficient in an end-to-end broadcast or creative media setup, owning the pre-production, production and editing treatment for each asset developed by the media lab. This can include filming/editing our flagship podcast to create engaging short form social media content. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about storytelling through content and want to create a significant brand in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the production process end-to-end: Manage the end-to-end production process, including pre-production setup, videography, and all post-production editing
Long-form content: Operate and manage a 3-channel camera setup with condenser mics and lighting to produce long form podcast style content with high audio and visual quality, along with OBS streaming for live webinars, served through YouTube
Short-Form Content: Create, edit and release short-form for YouTube shorts and Instagram reels
Content/Asset repurposing: Breaking down each long-form episode into a minimum of ten distinct assets (clips, thumbnails, etc.) for omnichannel distribution
Post-production: Edit footage based on treatment notes, incorporating strong CTAs and L-banners to drive audience interaction
Technical knowledge: Oversee all technical aspects of filming, including multi-camera setups, diffusion lighting, and high-quality audio recording
Qualifications And Skills
Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in video production and editing, with a strong portfolio that showcases both long-form interview content and engaging short-form social videos
Technical Proficiency
Expert-level knowledge of professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve) and motion graphics
Demonstrated experience with multi-camera and podcast setups and familiarity with streaming software like OBS
Creative vision: A strong sense of narrative, pacing, and visual storytelling with a keen eye for detail
Social media knowledge: A deep understanding of what makes video content perform well on YouTube, Instagram, and other platforms
Proactive & Organized: Ability to manage multiple projects, from filming to final edits, while adhering to a content calendar and deadlines
Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with our founders, students, and marketing team
