Position Overview:
The Operations Head oversees the entire manufacturing plant’s operations, ensuring production efficiency, safety compliance, and timely delivery of quality products. This strategic role involves implementing best practices, managing customer interactions, and planning schedules to align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience, strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Operations Management:
Oversee all plant operations, ensuring optimal performance and meeting production targets.
Develop and execute strategies for operational excellence and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with senior management to align plant operations with company objectives.
Implementation of Best Practices:
Identify, develop, and implement industry best practices to improve operational efficiency.
Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all operations.
Customer Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries related to plant operations.
Partner with customers to understand requirements, ensuring products meet or exceed expectations.
Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Scheduling and Planning:
Develop and oversee production schedules to meet delivery timelines and optimize resources.
Proactively manage potential delays by adjusting plans and communicating changes.
Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and resources.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct training programs to enhance team skills and maintain high levels of morale.
Resolve employee conflicts and ensure effective communication across all levels.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Ensure adherence to quality standards across all production processes.
Implement corrective measures to address deviations or defects in production.
Partner with quality assurance teams for routine audits and inspections.
Safety and Compliance:
Uphold and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Conduct regular safety training and monitor compliance with workplace regulations.
Investigate and address safety incidents, implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
Reporting and Analysis:
Maintain detailed records of operational metrics, production performance, and downtime.
Analyze plant performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Present reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related fields (advantageous).
Experience:
15+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in the automobile manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and strategic decision-making abilities.
Proficient in manufacturing software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
