Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Statistician & Psychometrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead psychometric research, assessment design, and data analysis for educational assessments and personalized adaptive learning platforms. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge adaptive testing systems and AI-powered learning solutions that positively impact learners at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of adaptive and diagnostic assessments for personalized learning platforms.

​

Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to create psychometrically sound assessment items aligned with learning outcomes.

​

Conduct item calibration and scaling using Item Response Theory (1PL, 3PL, 4PL) and Cognitive Diagnostic Models (CDM).

​

Perform Differential Item Functioning (DIF) analysis to ensure fairness, validity, and equity in assessments.

​

Evaluate and enhance the psychometric properties of adaptive learning assessments and interventions.

​

Design and refine algorithms for Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) and personalized learning pathways using multi-dimensional models.

​

Integrate psychometric methodologies with machine learning techniques for dynamic content recommendations.

​

Collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists for seamless implementation of adaptive learning solutions.

​

Analyze large-scale data to assess the reliability, validity, and efficacy of assessments and personalized learning interventions.

​

Conduct simulation studies to test, evaluate, and optimize adaptive algorithms.

​

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve learner outcomes and platform experiences.

​

Train internal teams on psychometric concepts and the application of assessment data in adaptive learning systems.

​

Mentor and guide junior researchers and statisticians within the team.

​

Qualifications

Education:

​

PhD (Preferred) or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, or a related field.

​

Experience:

​

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in psychometric analysis, adaptive learning platforms, or large-scale assessments.

​

Experience in AI or ML-driven educational solutions is highly desirable.

​

Skills & Competencies

Advanced knowledge of psychometric theories including IRT, CTT, and CDM.

​

Proven experience with Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) development and implementation.

​

Expertise in regression analysis, SEM, HLM, Bayesian modeling, and multivariate techniques.

​

Strong proficiency in machine learning techniques relevant to education (classification models, predictive analytics, etc.)

​

Programming proficiency in R and Python with familiarity in ML libraries and tools.

​

Strong leadership abilities with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.

​

Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail and a results-driven mindset.

​

Ability to communicate complex research findings clearly to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
