Position Overview:
The Placement Director will lead the university’s efforts to strengthen industry linkages, enhance employability of students, and ensure successful placements across all disciplines.
The role involves strategic planning, corporate relationship management, and developing innovative training initiatives to prepare students for careers in diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Planning
Develop and implement the university’s annual placement strategy and roadmap aligned with institutional goals.
Design and execute initiatives to improve placement percentages and quality of recruiters.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure placement success and student employability.
2. Industry Interface & Corporate Relations
Build and sustain strong relationships with leading companies, industry bodies, and professional organizations.
Coordinate corporate visits, industry conclaves, and placement drives across sectors.
Collaborate with HR heads and recruitment teams to understand talent needs and align academic offerings accordingly.
3. Student Training & Career Development
Oversee employability enhancement programs — including soft skills, aptitude, resume building, group discussions, and interview preparation.
Organize career guidance seminars, mentorship programs, and alumni interaction sessions.
Partner with academic departments to integrate industry-relevant skills into the curriculum.
4. Placement Operations Management
Supervise campus recruitment activities, including pre-placement talks, interviews, and offer management.
Maintain a comprehensive placement database, track outcomes, and prepare reports for leadership.
Ensure seamless coordination between students, faculty coordinators, and recruiters.
5. Branding & Outreach
Promote University as a preferred talent destination for recruiters.
Lead the development of placement brochures, digital campaigns, and employer engagement materials.
Represent the university at industry forums, HR summits, and placement consortiums.
6. Team Leadership
Manage and mentor the Training & Placement Cell staff, departmental placement coordinators, and student volunteers.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the placement ecosystem.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s degree in Management / Engineering / Education / or related discipline from a reputed institution (Ph.D. preferred).
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in campus placements, corporate relations, or talent acquisition, preferably in a reputed university or higher education institution.
Proven track record of building corporate partnerships and achieving strong placement outcomes.
Strong understanding of current industry trends, skill requirements, and campus recruitment processes.
